My home has a mix of carpet and non-carpeted flooring so I tried this canister vacuum on the different types for this review.The first thing I notice is that the on/off switch is in an odd place and since it is raised black on black plastic, it's not that intuitive or easy to see. The motor noise is very quiet, however, and the suction is variable by dual buttons on either side of a light up icon set. The suction can be adjusted downward to make it safer to vacuum drapery or other light weight materials or set upward for higher pile carpet. Regardless of the set level, however, the metal plated floor nozzle has only a small brush in the center so you may have to make several sweeps over an area to make sure you have sucked up any debris that might be on your floor or carpet. It looks to have an adjustable up and down mechanism but pushing on it or releasing really didn't seem that significant. It comes with two small attachments: one for crevices and one small little... Since it's a canister with a separate wand for sweeping, it's light-weight, easy to use and easy to move from room to room. It comes with a 16 page hard copy user's guide which is nice.Best features of the vacuum: * Auto-retractable cord so you don't have to wind the cord up by hand * Adjustable (on the head) for rug, carpet, and hardwood * Adjustable levels of suction. The lower levels are extremely quiet. * "Bag full" indicator tells you when it's time to change the bag * Comes with a HEPS filter for allergies * Comes with 5 bags to star you out * Picks up dirt well, especially on hardwood floors and shorter pile area rugs. It made vacuuming a heavy workout (the floor attachment does NOT have any rollers, but does have good suction, so I had to really fight it to get it to move on our carpet).What I liked: - It is a nice-looking vacuum - The suction it has seemed to be pretty strong What I DIDN'T like: - there are virtually no attachments except for the floor attachment (so you can use the hose, or the floor attachment) - the capacity of the vacuum bags seems to be about 1/2 what my old canister vacuum can hold - Other than the hose locking into the main vacuum near the handle, the hose simply stays together by fitting the pieces tightly together - eventually, I'll bet those connections are going to loosen and not stay together - I really HATED that the floor attachment didn't have rollers!
