This case turns out to be quite a bit bigger than my old one, and more substantial. It seems well put together and the buckles and strap are sturdy. Plenty of room and a padded section for a laptop toward the back. Note the dimensions especially the front-to-back depth-- it's not a "fit under your arm" briefcase but more squared off and doesn't really collapse as you might suspect from the photo. If you're looking for a professional piece at a bargain price that looks like it will last a long time, this is a good choice. The material is very high quality and looks and feels like a briefcase carried by your average 5th Avenue attorney. Some people I've met have said that it seems a little "boxy," but it is a BRIEFCASE not a BAG. If I could find any fault, it would be the small openings on each side of the case, below where the srap is clipped, which are exposed when the flap is buckled. I have carried this through the rain with no problem, as the openings are on the sides and not facing upwards. I have no huge problem with them, but others might if they are carrying a laptop or other electronic device very often through the rain without the convenience of an umbrella.
